The well-known Durrell family villa in Perama is for sale. The Durrell family,
consisting of the author and naturalist Gerald Durrell, his mother, his siblings
and a host of eccentric acquaintances, discovered an idyllic retreat on Corfu in
the 1930s. Amid the island’s breathtaking landscapes and abundant wildlife, they
embarked on whimsical adventures, which Gerald chronicled in his delightful
book, My Family and Other Animals. The Durrell family gained further fame
through the TV series “The Durrells”, which was filmed over four seasons and
retells the family’s life in Corfu.
